MLB: LA Angels 14, N.Y. Yankees 8

ANAHEIM, Calif., July 11 (UPI) -- Bobby Abreu and Mike Napoli had two hits and three RBI each Saturday, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 14-8 win over the New York Yankees.

Abreu, a former Yankee, hit two RBI singles and a sacrifice fly. Napoli hit a two-run double in a seven-run fifth and a solo homer.

Brandon Wood hit a two-run homer, Kendry Morales had one RBI, Howie Kendrick had three hits and two RBI and Erick Aybar had three hits and one RBI, while Gary Matthews Jr. had two hits and two RBI for the Angels, who will try Sunday for a three-game sweep.

The winner was starter Jered Weaver (10-3). He went six innings, giving up three runs on four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts.

New York's Alex Rodriguez and Eric Hinske each homered twice. Hideki Matsui hit a solo homer and Robinson Cano added two hits and one RBI for the Yankees, who had won three straight before dropping two the LA.

Yankees' starter Andy Pettitte (8-5) went 4 1/3 innings, allowing six runs on seven hits with two walks and on strikeout.
