PHOENIX, July 11 (UPI) -- Dan Haren cooled off Florida's bats by throwing a four-hitter Friday, and Felipe Lopez hit a three-run homer to bring Arizona an 8-0 win over the Marlins.
Haren (9-5) turned things around by recording the second shutout of his seven-year career. He retired the last nine men he faced and struck out nine.
Miguel Montero gave Arizona the only run it needed with a solo homer in the second, and Lopez delivered his three-run shot in a five-run fourth inning. Haren reached on an infield single and scored on the Lopez homer.
Ricky Nolasco (6-7) had won four straight decisions before giving up seven runs on nine hits in six innings. Florida had won its previous two games.
The Diamondbacks scored one more run than they did against Florida Thursday and held the Marlins to 14 fewer. Florida had produced a 10-run inning and had 17 hits in its 14-7 Thursday victory.
