DENVER, July 10 (UPI) -- Garrett Atkins delivered a go-ahead, two-run double in the eighth Thursday to give Colorado a 7-6 win over Atlanta -- the Rockies' fourth straight victory.
The Rockies came from behind on three separate occasions and tied it at 5-5 on an RBI double by Clint Barmes in the seventh.
Mike Gonzalez came on in the eighth as Atlanta's fifth pitcher and issued a one-out walk to Ian Stewart. Gonzalez hit Chris Iannetta with a pitch and then got Carlos Gonzalez to pop up for the second out of the inning.
Atkins worked the count to 2-2 before blasting a double to left, bringing home both runners for a 7-5 lead.
Houston Street worked the top of the ninth for his 22nd save. A leadoff double by Garret Anderson and two ground outs produced a run and brought the Braves within one, but Casey Kotchman grounded back to the pitcher to end the game.
The win went to Juan Rincon (2-0), who threw only two pitches while retiring the only batter he faced in the eighth.
