MINNEAPOLIS, July 9 (UPI) -- Two RBI each from Cody Ransom and Brett Gardner Thursday led the New York Yankees to a 6-4 win over Minnesota, capping a season sweep.
Ransom drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk and another with an RBI single.
Gardner hit a run-scoring fielder's choice and an RBI single.
Mark Teixeira hit a solo homer, his 21st this season, to break a 23-game long-ball drought.
Derek Jeter drove in a run.
And eight batters had one hit each for the Yankees, now 7-0 against Minnesota this season.
The winner was Jonathan Albaladejo (4-1). Closer Mariano Rivera, the last of six pitchers, earned his 23rd save.
Minnesota's Jason Kubel hit a second-inning solo homer. Two other Twins had one RBI. A run scored on Ransom's error in the second while Joe Mauer had two of the six hits for the Twins, who have lost four of six.
The losing pitcher was starter Francisco Liriano (4-9).
