ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., July 8 (UPI) -- Ben Zobrist's fourth RBI of the game, coming on a two-out single in the ninth inning Wednesday, lifted Tampa Bay to a wild 10-9 win over Toronto.
The Rays twice let a three-run lead get away before coming through in the ninth, winning their second straight on the heels of a four-game losing streak.
Tampa Bay blew a 5-2 lead when Toronto scored three times in the fourth, but the Rays came back in their half of the fourth with a three-run homer from Zobrist.
The Rays were in front 9-6 going into the seventh, only to have Scott Rolen, Kevin Millar and Alex Rios drive in runs to again tie it up.
With Jason Frasor (5-2) on the mound to start the ninth, Carl Crawford reached on a one-out, infield single. Crawford then stole both second and third and, after Scott Downs relieved Frasor, Carlos Pena drew a walk.
Zobrist followed with his single to right to drive in Crawford.
That made a winner out of J.P. Howell (5-2), who struck out two during a perfect top of the ninth.
