
HOUSTON, July 8 (UPI) -- Wandy Rodriguez pitched a complete-game five-hit shutout Wednesday, leading the Houston Astros to a 5-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Rodriguez (8-6), hurling his first shutout this season and second in his career, threw 125 pitches, yielding five singles with one walk and a career-high 11 strikeouts.
He has won his last three starts.
Lance Berkman led Houston with two hits and two RBI.
Berkman extended his hitting streak to 10 straight games.
Miguel Tejada, Carlos Lee and Michael Bourn all had two hits and one RBI, while Kaz Matsui added a run and two hits for the Astros, who have won three of four.
Bourn scored in both the third and fourth innings.
Five batters had one hit for the Pirates, who lost four of five.
Losing pitcher Charlie Morton (1-2) gave up five earned runs and 10 hits in four innings.
