EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., July 6 (UPI) -- Guard-forward Terrence Williams has signed a contract with the New Jersey Nets, who picked him in the first round of the 2009 NBA draft, the club said Monday.

The Nets did not reveal how much they are paying or how long a deal they reached with Williams, who was the 11th player chosen in the draft.

Williams was signed out of the University of Louisville where he was a third team All-American. He helped the Cardinals to Big East regular season and conference titles last season, averaging 12.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5 assists. He is the only Louisville player ever to finish his career with 1,500 points, 900 rebounds, 500 assists and 200 steals.

Williams is the second first-round player to sign a contract, following Utah's Eric Maynor .
