WASHINGTON, July 5 (UPI) -- Left-hander Scott Olsen came within an out Sunday of pitching a complete game for Washington, which topped the Atlanta Braves 5-3.

Reliever Mike MacDougal got the final out, notching his fifth save of the season.

Ronnie Belliard drove in a run and scored three for the Nationals. Nyjer Morgan, recently acquired from Pittsburgh, had three hits and an RBI.

Atlanta starter Derek Lowe (7-7) gave up 10 hits and four runs in 5 1/3 innings. Lowe has surrendered 43 hits and 24 runs in his last 23 innings.
