BOSTON, July 5 (UPI) -- Jacoby Ellsbury's bases-loaded walk highlighted a five-run seventh-inning Red Sox rally Sunday in Boston's 8-4 win over the Seattle Mariners.
Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz hit solo homers. Ellsbury, Ortiz and Mark Kotsay had two RBI apiece and Pedroia had three of the nine hits for the Red Sox, who avoided a three-game sweep at Fenway Park.
The winner was reliever Justin Masterson (3-2).
Southpaw ace Jon Lester surrendered four runs -- one earned -- and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings with three walks and nine strikeouts.
Seattle's Ronny Cedeno hit a three-run fourth-inning triple after Pedroia's error. Ryan Langerhans had one RBI, while Franklin Gutierrez had two of the eighth hits for the Mariners, who have split their last six contests.
The losing pitcher was reliever Miguel Batista (5-3), who surrendered three runs on three hits in 2/3 inning of relief.
