COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 4 (UPI) -- Christian Gomez and Alejandro Moreno traded goals Saturday when D.C. United and the Columbus Crew wound up in a 1-1 draw in Major League Soccer play.

After the draw, United (5-3-9) still holds a one-point lead in the Eastern Conference over Columbus (5-3-8).

United scored the game's first goal in the 33rd minute. Columbus goalkeeper Will Hesmer made a save on Clyde Simms but Gomez wound up with the loose ball and put it into the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season.

Moreno tied the score with his third goal of the season just before the hour mark after Steven Lenhart sent him a back-door pass.
