
CLEVELAND, July 4 (UPI) -- Ben Francisco and Grady Sizemore knocked in two runs each Saturday, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 5-2 win over Oakland.
One of three hits by Francisco was a two-run homer with no outs in the bottom of the sixth. Sizemore had two hits, including a solo homer in the sixth, while his second RBI scored on a seventh-inning groundout.
Luis Valbuena added three hits and one RBI for the Indians, who can sweep the three-game series Sunday. They have won 11 of their last 15 against Oakland.
Winner Carl Pavano (7-7) gave up two earned runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Closer Kerry Wood followed two other relievers, earning his 10th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Oakland's runs scored on Matt Holliday's first-inning sacrifice fly and Orlando Cabrera's seventh-inning single. Cabrera had three of the eight hits for the Athletics, who have lost eight of 10.
Losing pitcher Vin Mazzaro (2-4) yielded five earned runs and 10 hits in six innings.
