TORONTO, July 1 (UPI) -- Ricky Romero and Jason Frasor combined on a four-hit shutout Wednesday, leading Toronto to a 5-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, ending a four-game slide.
Romero (6-3) gave up the four hits in eight innings (113 pitches) with four walks and seven strikeouts without giving up a hit after six innings.
Frasor struck out the side in the ninth.
Adam Lind and Scott Rolen hit back-to-back solo homers for the Blue Jays in the eighth. Both had two hits, with Rolen extending his hitting streak to 19 straight contests with a sixth-inning single.
Rod Barajas hit a solo homer in the seventh and Marco Scutaro also had one RBI for the Blue Jays, who closed their nine-game home stand on a positive note.
Zobrist had two of the four hits for the Rays, who had won seven straight.
Losing pitcher James Shields (6-6) surrendered five runs -- four earned -- and seven hits in 7 1/3 innings with one walk and eight strikeouts.
