TORONTO, June 29 (UPI) -- Jeff Niemann outdueled Roy Halladay Monday when the Tampa Bay Rays posted a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Niemann (7-4) gave up one run on four hits over 7 1/3 innings, while Halladay (10-2), back from a groin injury, allowed a two-run homer by Carl Crawford. Halladay, who was 7-0 in 10 previous outings, allowed five hits overall and struck out seven in six innings.
Crawford had two hits and walked for the Rays, who have won six straight, equaling their longest streak of the season. Pat Burrell homered and B.J. Upton added a sacrifice fly.
Rod Barajas drove in Toronto's only run with a single in the bottom of the eighth, one of five Blue Jays hits. Scott Rolen doubled to extend his career-high hitting streak to 17 games.
