
PITTSBURGH, June 29 (UPI) -- Rich Harden pitched seven innings of one-run ball Tuesday to pace the Chicago Cubs to a 3-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Harden (5-4) stuck out nine and walked one while scattering nine hits in the right-hander's first win since May 12. He was 0-3 over his previous four starts and 0-2 in three outings since coming off of the disabled list.
Milton Bradley had an RBI double in a two-hit performance and Ryan Theriot hit a solo homer for Chicago, which won for just the second time in its last eight games. Jake Fox was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run, Andres Blanco added an RBI single and Kevin Gregg picked up his 13th save of the season.
Zach Duke (8-6) suffered the loss after giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk in seven innings.
Andy LaRoche doubled and Jack Wilson got the only RBI for Pittsburgh.
