COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 28 (UPI) -- Chad Marshall scored near the end of the first half, and the Columbus Crew went on to beat Red Bull New York 1-0 Saturday.

Marshall scored on a corner kick from Guillermo Barros Schelotto for his second goal of the season.

Schelotto, who led the MLS with 19 assists last season, notched his third for this season when he passed to Marshall on the far side. Marshall then jumped over New York defender Jeremy Hall and headed the ball into the net from 12 yards out in the 45th minute.

The win for Columbus (5-3-7) was its 18th straight at home.

New York (2-12-4) has lost its last 22 regular season matches on the road.

Schelotto, the 2008 MVP, led the Columbus offense, which had control most of the first half.

New York's Juan Pablo Angel did not play for the first time this season because of an injury.
