OAKLAND, Calif., June 28 (UPI) -- Aaron Cook scattered nine hits and allowed one run in eight innings Sunday, leading the Colorado Rockies to a 3-1 inter-league victory over Oakland.
Sunday's win completed a three-game sweep and made Colorado 20-3 in its last 23 contests.
Cook (8-3) was charged with the run after Kurt Suzuki led off the ninth with a single and then scored on Ryan Sweeney's RBI single off closer Huston Street. Street retired the next three batters in order to earn his 19th save -- his third this weekend against his former teammates.
Carlos Gonzalez had two hits and one RBI while Clint Barmes and Ian Stewart added two hits apiece for the Rockies, who have won four of their last six contests.
Sweeney led Oakland with three of its 11 hits. Orlando Cabrera and Kurt Suzuki added two hits each for the Athletics, who have lost five in a row.
Losing pitcher Vin Mazzaro (2-3) was tagged for three runs and five hits in five innings with four walks and eight strikeouts.
