
CLEVELAND, June 28 (UPI) -- Brandon Phillips and Ramon Hernandez both had three hits and three RBI Sunday, lifting Cincinnati to an 8-1 inter-league win over Cleveland.
Both hit two-run singles and singles that produced one run.
The lone hit by Jonny Gomes was a two-run, fifth-inning homer. Willy Taveras had a run and three hits for the Reds, who have won three of four.
Winner Micah Owings (5-8) gave up an earned run on five hits and four walks in six innings. He registered four strikeouts.
Relievers Danny Herrera and Josh Roenicke held the Indians scoreless in the final three innings.
Cleveland's run scored on a first-inning sacrifice fly by Victor Martinez.
Losing pitcher David Huff (3-3) surrendered seven runs -- six earned -- and nine hits in five innings.
Ryan Garko had two of the Indians' seven hits as Cleveland lost for the second time in the three-game "Ohio" series.
