PHOENIX, June 27 (UPI) -- Mike Napoli's ninth-inning solo homer Saturday led the Los Angeles Angels to a 2-1 inter-league victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Napoli's 10th homer this season was his third hit in the contest.

Closer Brian Fuentes recorded his 21st save after winning pitcher Darren Oliver (2-0) pitched a scoreless eighth in relief of Angels' starter John Lackey, who allowed one run on five hits with three walks and nine strikeouts over seven innings.

Tony Clark's fourth-inning sacrifice fly accounted for the only run for the Diamondbacks, who have lost four straight.

The Angels tied the score in the sixth when Arizona committed two throwing errors on the same play. Erick Aybar reached first on a bunt single, went to third on a wild throw to first by Diamondbacks' starter Doug Davis and then scored when Justin Upton's throw sailed past third.

Davis surrendered an unearned run and five hits in seven innings with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Arizona closer Chad Qualls (1-1) took the loss after serving up Napoli's home run.
