Goosen continues to lead BMW golf event

MUNICH, Germany, June 27 (UPI) -- Retief Goosen held the lead for a third straight day Saturday, taking a two-stroke advantage into the final round of the BMW International in Munich, Germany.

The two-time Masters champion shot 5-under-par 67 Saturday, recording six birdies in his first 13 holes of the European Tour event. His 54-hole total, 17-under 199, leads 51-year-old German Bernhard Langer (65).

"It's always nice going into a tournament with the lead," Goosen said. "Especially the final round, I'm very much looking forward to (Sunday). So far we've been lucky with the weather."

Langer is trying to become the oldest winner in European Tour history in his 16th attempt.

"This is as close as I could get to winning at home and it would mean a lot," Langer said. "It would also be very special with my son Stefan on my bag. We have only one more tournament together before he goes off to college."

This is the only European event in his native country that Langer has never won.
