ENDICOTT, N.Y., June 27 (UPI) -- Fred Funk had a 7-under 65 Saturday to take a three-stroke lead after two rounds of the senior Dick's Sporting Goods Open.
Funk completed 36 holes at 15-under 129, breaking the previous 36-hole scoring record of 130 set last year by Eduardo Romero en route to victory.
The first round was completed earlier Saturday after two weather delays Friday caused play to be suspended for the night due to darkness.
Romero and Ronnie Black each missed the course record by a single stroke Saturday as they both fired 9-under 63 to move into a share of second place at 12-under 132. They were joined in second place by Lonnie Nielsen, who shot 66 in the second round.
Gary Hallberg shot a 6-under 66 and is fifth at 11-under 133. Jay Haas (68) is one shot back at minus-10.
