LONDON, June 26 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Serena Williams, showing a strong serve, was a straight-set winner Friday in third-round play of the Wimbledon Championships in London.

Williams swept by Roberta Vinci 6-3, 6-4 in an efficient 67 minutes. Williams wasn't perfect -- Vinci had two service breaks -- but was clearly the better player. She dropped just five points on her first serve and had 34 winners, including 10 aces.

She will have a Round-of-16 meeting Monday against Daniela Hantuchova, who stopped Ai Sugiyama 6-4, 6-3 on Friday.

Fourth-seeded Elena Dementieva took a 6-1, 6-2 win over Regina Kulikova in less than an hour. She took 58 of the 86 points in the match, allowing Kulikova to take just 12 of 41 points on Kulikova's serve.

Her fourth-round opponent Monday is to be Elena Vesnina, who upset 14th-seeded Dominika Cibulkova 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 in a match that took more than three hours.

No. 8-seeded Victoria Azarenka defeated Sorana Cirstea 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 and draws 10th-seeded Nadia Petrova in the fourth round. Petrova advanced Friday with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win over Gisela Dulko.

Virginie Razzano, seeded 26th, advanced to the fourth round when seventh-seeded Vera Zvonareva withdrew with an ankle injury. Razzano had never before reached the fourth round at Wimbledon.
