CLEVELAND, June 26 (UPI) -- Homers by Ryan Garko and Victor Martinez helped Cleveland build a nine-run lead Friday and the Indians romped past Cincinnati 9-2.

Jeremy Sowers (2-5) gave up six hits and struck out six over seven-plus innings to win for the first time since May 25. The Indians recorded only their second victory in 10 games.

Garko hit a two-run homer in the fourth to make it 4-0 and Martinez added a solo shot in the fifth. Shin-Soo Choo contributed two RBI.

The loss went to Aaron Harang (5-8), who surrendered seven runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings.

After giving up a one-out single in the second, Sowers retired 12 men in a row. Cincinnati had won four of its previous five meetings with the Indians.
