TORONTO, June 24 (UPI) -- Pablo Vitti scored in the first half and Dwayne De Rosario added a goal in the second Wednesday, lifting Toronto to a 2-0 victory over New York.

Toronto moved into second place in the Eastern Conference with a 6-5-4 mark, one point behind front-runners D.C. United. Toronto has won three of its last five games.

New York (2-11-4) is winless in its last eight and is in the basement of Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference.

Nana Attakora grabbed a poor clearance and sent a high pass into the box, from where Vitti was able to loft a header over goalkeeper Danny Cepero.
