LONDON, June 24 (UPI) -- No. 2-seeded Roger Federer and fourth-seeded Novak Djokovic were straight-set winners Wednesday in the second round of the Wimbledon Championships in London.

Federer coasted by Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 in winning for the 42nd time in his last 43 matches at Wimbledon. Federer's game was very sharp with just 10 unforced errors and three lost points when he got his first serve in.

Djokovic had 14 aces en route to a 7-5, 6-1, 6-4 win over Simon Greul. Djokovic broke Greul's serve eight times and was able to take advantage of his opponent's 39 unforced errors.

Seventh-seeded Fernando Verdasco was pushed in a 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 win over Kristof Vliegen. The match saw just five break-point chances -- all by Verdasco -- and just one break in the third set.

In other pairings involving highly seeded players, No. 9-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga advanced in a walkover and 15th-seeded Tommy Robredo rallied from a two-set deficit for a 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 win over Stefan Koubek. No. 11-seeded Marin Cilic eked out a 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 win over Sam Querrey.

Michael Llodra was forced to retire trailing 24th-seeded Tommy Haas when he crashed into the umpire's stand while chasing a shot. Llodra landed atop a ball girl during his fall. Although the ball girl was uninjured, Llodra was unable to continue much further into the match.
