MLB: Detroit 5, Chicago Cubs 4

DETROIT, June 23 (UPI) -- Ryan Raburn hit a pinch-hit, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday, handing the Detroit Tigers a 5-4 inter-league win over the Chicago Cubs.

Micah Hoffpauir hit a go-ahead, two-run homer for the Cubs in the eighth. But in the bottom of the ninth, Don Kelly drew a lead-off walk for the Tigers and an out later Rabun hit a 1-0 pitch from Kevin Gregg (2-2), who suffered his third blown save of the season.

Brandon Inge hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning off Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano. Placido Polanco drove in the other run for the Tigers, who have won five straight.

Detroit starter Edwin Jackson gave up two runs on four hits and had seven strikeouts over seven innings. Brandon Lyon (3-3) retired the final batter in the top of the ninth to get the win.

Chicago's Derrek Lee was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run while extending his hitting streak to 20 games.
