MLB: Boston 11, Washington 3

WASHINGTON, June 23 (UPI) -- Jason Bay had four hits with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored Tuesday, fueling the Boston Red Sox' 11-3 inter-league win over Washington.

Jacoby Ellbsury also had four hits and three RBI for the Red Sox, who have won 10 of their last 13 games.

Kevin Youkilis and Jason Varitek each had two RBI for Boston, which had 17 hits and scored eight runs in its final three at-bats after being tied 3-3.

Manny Delcarmen (2-1) got the final out in the sixth inning for the win.

Red Sox starter Brad Penny allowed three runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Adam Dunn and Willie Harris each drove in a run for the Nationals.

Julian Tavarez (3-5) was charged with the loss after giving up the game-winning run while recording just one out in the seventh. Washington starter John Lannan allowed three runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 innnings.
