
NEW YORK, June 22 (UPI) -- Tim Redding got his first win of the year and Omir Santos had his first career four-hit game Monday to lead the New York Mets to a 6-4 win over St. Louis.
Redding (1-2) gave up four runs on five hits in seven-plus innings to win for the first time in 10 starts going back to last season while he was with Washington.
Francisco Rodriguez earned his 19th save of the year.
Santos was 4-for-4 with four singles and an RBI. Luis Castillo was 3-for-3 with a run-scoring double and two runs scored, Daniel Murphy had a homer and scored twice and Alex Cora two RBI hits.
Ryan Ludwick hit a two-run homer and Brendan Ryan added a solo shot for St. Louis. Albert Pujols doubled and scored in Monday's loss.
Todd Wellemeyer (6-7) took the loss after giving up 10 hits and five runs with four walks in 5 2/3 innings.
