KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 21 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols drove in six runs Sunday with two homers, leading the St. Louis Cardinals in a 12-5 inter-league rout and a three-game sweep of Kansas City.

Pujols, who leads the majors with 26 homers, launched a fourth-inning grand slam and a fifth-inning solo homer after a first-inning RBI infield single.

Rick Ankiel, Chris Duncan and Skip Schumaker all had two hits and one RBI. Khalil Greene hit a solo homer and Tyler Greene had one RBI for the Cardinals, who presented Manager Tony La Russa with his 2,500th career victory.

Winner Adam Wainwright (8-4) surrendered five runs and eight hits in six innings with no walks and eight strikeouts.

Kansas City's Jose Guillen had two hits -- one a sixth-inning solo homer -- and three RBI. David DeJesus had two hits and one RBI, while Mark Teahen added one RBI for the Royals, who have lost five straight.

Royals' starter Gil Meche (4-6) took the loss, lasting just 3 1/3 innings and allowing nine runs on nine hits with two walks and one strikeout.
