
SAN FRANCISCO, June 21 (UPI) -- Nate Schierholtz scored the winning run on a wild pitch Saturday, giving the San Francisco Giants a 2-1 11-inning inter-league win over the Texas Rangers.
The bases were loaded with two outs in the bottom of the 11th when losing pitcher Jason Jennings (2-3) threw the wild pitch past catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Aaron Rowand's lone hit was a third-inning solo homer and Pablo Sandoval had two of the six hits for the Giants, who had snapped their three-game losing streak Friday with a 6-4 win.
The winner was Sergio Romo (2-0).
Starter Matt Cain gave up a run and three hits in eight innings with three walks and eight strikeouts.
Ian Kinsler's 18th home run this season produced the lone Texas run leading off the top of the sixth.
Texas starter Derek Holland surrendered a run and four hits in seven innings with a walk and five strikeouts.
