
CINCINNATI, June 21 (UPI) -- Mark Buehrle hurled seven scoreless innings Sunday, carrying the Chicago White Sox to a 4-1 inter-league win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Buehrle (7-2) scattered five hits and faced more than one base runner once in 103 pitches. His career record against National League opposition rose to 19-6 overall -- 15-2 in his last 17 starts.
Closer Bob Jenks earned his 17th save with a perfect ninth.
Offensively, A.J. Pierzynski, Paul Konerko and Dewayne Wise all had one RBI.
A run scored on Konerko's double-play ground out in the first inning, Both Scott Podsednik and Gordon Beckham had two hits for the White Sox, who won twice in the three-game series.
Cincinnati scored on an eighth-inning sacrifice fly by Brandon Phillips.
Jonny Gomes had two of the six hits for the Reds, who have lost seven of 10.
Losing pitcher Aaron Harang (5-7) surrendered three earned runs and eight hits in seven innings with no walks and seven strikeouts.
