MLB: Chicago White Sox 10, Cincinnati 8

CINCINNATI, June 21 (UPI) -- Alexei Ramirez was 4-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI Saturday to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 10-8 inter-league win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Gordon Beckham also hit a three-run homer -- his first major league homer -- and scored twice for the White Sox, who overcame an early five-run deficit. Scott Podsednik was 3-for-4 with a solo homer, two RBI and a pair of runs scored, and A.J. Pierzynski homered for Chicago.

Starting pitcher Clayton Richard gave up five runs on six hits in three innings. D.J. Carrasco (2-0) worked two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.

Jonny Gomes hit a two-run homer and Jay Bruce had a solo blast for the Reds. Willy Taveras had three hits and two runs and Jerry Hairston Jr. and Ramon Hernandez each had an RBI for Cincinnati, which had five stolen bases.

Reds starter Johnny Cueto allowed five runs on 10 hits in 4 2/3 frames.

Daniel Herrera (1-3) allowed two runs on one hit in one inning to take the loss.
