Tommie Harris' wife dies

FRISCO, Texas, June 20 (UPI) -- Second-half goals by Eric Avila and Kenny Cooper led FC Dallas to a 2-1 Major League Soccer victory over Columbus Saturday.
FC Dallas (3-7-4) won for just the first time in its last four games, while handing the Crew (4-3-7) its first-loss in 10 matches.
Columbus took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Eric Brunner's header -- off a corner kick by Guillermo Barros Schelotto -- glanced off Dallas defender Pablo Ricchetti and into the net for an own goal.
Avila scored on a 20-yard shot in the 80th minute and Cooper got the decisive goal on a penalty kick in the 87th minute. Cooper has seven goals for the season.
