ANAHEIM, Calif., June 20 (UPI) -- Juan Rivera hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning Friday that lifted the Los Angeles Angels to a 5-4 inter-league win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Angels overcame a 4-1 deficit to win their seventh straight game. They staged a late comeback for the second straight outing, having pulled out a 4-3 victory Wednesday over San Francisco.
James Loney hit a solo shot for the Dodgers in the fourth and Rafael Furcal added a two-run homer in the fifth to build their lead.
The Angels, however, tied it with a three-run sixth -- two of the runs coming in on a single by Maicer Izturis and another one scoring on Mike Napoli's sacrifice fly.
Rivera hit his home run leading off the eighth. He fouled off six pitches from Guillermo Mota (3-2) before blasting one over the left-field fence.
Justin Speier (3-1) was credited with the win after retiring the only batter he faced to end the eighth.
Brian Fuentes came on to collect his 19th save. The Dodgers put runners on first and second with two away, but Fuentes struck out Matt Kemp swinging to end the game.
