'S-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, June 20 (UPI) -- Germany's Benjamin Becker beat Dutchman Raemon Sluiter 7-5, 6-3 Saturday to win the Ordina Open at 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

His first career title was worth $100,000.

"I really played well (but) I was surprised I started off well too today," Becker said after becoming the first German to reach the Ordina final since Karsten Braasch was the runner-up in 1994. "It was a big thing for me to come out and serve well and hit my forehand aggressively."

He lost only five points on his first serve, and did not face a single break point in the championship match.

At No. 866, Sluiter was the lowest-ranked player ever to reach a singles final, where his career record sank to 0-4.

"It was a crazy week, like a dream but without a happy ending," the 31-year-old Sluiter said. "I'm very disappointed about the defeat. I didn't really have my chances. Becker was just better."
