MIAMI, June 19 (UPI) -- Andy Pettitte allowed three hits over seven innings Friday and chipped in an RBI double, lifting the New York Yankees to a 5-1 inter-league win over Florida.

Pettitte (7-3) struck out seven and walked nobody. His run-scoring double came as part of a three-run second inning and was his first two-base hit since July 9, 2006.

Angel Berroa and Johnny Damon also had RBIs in the second and Melky Cabrera added a solo homer for the Yankees in the third. All of the game's tallies came in the first three frames.

The Yankees scored their five runs off Sean West (2-2), who allowed 10 hits in four-plus innings.

New York Manager Joe Girardi was facing the club he managed in 2006. Girardi is in his second year at the helm of the Yankees.
