CHICAGO, June 18 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano's ninth-inning single Thursday lifted the Chicago Cubs to a 6-5 inter-league win over the Chicago White Sox.

His game-winner broke a 5-5 tie with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and completed a comeback from a four-run eighth-inning deficit.

The Cubs trailed 5-1 when Derek Lee launched a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, extending his hitting streak to 15 straight games.

Geovany Soto followed Lee with a solo homer.

Lee had four RBI for the Cubs, who split the two games played after Tuesday's rainout.

The winner was closer Kevin Gregg (1-1), the last of four pitchers.

Alexei Ramirez led the White Sox with two hits -- one a two-run seventh-inning homer.

Chris Getz had two hits and one RBI, but his error preceded Lee's homer.

Gordon Beckham and Brian Anderson also had two hits and one RBI for the White Sox, whose three-game winning streak ended.

The losing pitcher was Matt Thornton (4-2).
