CINCINNATI, June 18 (UPI) -- Tommy Hanson and three relievers combined on a five-hit shutout Thursday and the Atlanta Braves easily beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-0.
Hanson (2-0) gave up three hits in six scoreless innings, while relievers Peter Moylan, Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano all pitched an inning apiece.
At the plate, Nate McLouth had two hits -- one a fifth-inning two-run homer -- and four RBI.
One of two hits for Matt Diaz was a fourth-inning solo shot.
Three others had one RBI for the Braves, who averted a three-game sweep.
Before Thursday's victory, they had lost four straight road games.
Five players had one hit for the Reds, who have lost five of their last seven outings.
Rookie left hander Matt Maloney (0-2), making just his third major league appearance, gave up six earned runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings with two walks and five strikeouts.
