LOS ANGELES, June 17 (UPI) -- Matt Kemp had three hits Tuesday, including a two-out, 10th-inning single that scored the deciding run in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 5-4 win over Oakland.
The victory came after the Dodgers scrambled to tie the score with a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth after Oakland had scored four runs in the top of the inning to take a 4-2 lead.
Guillermo Mota (3-1) set the Athletics down in order in the 10th for the win. Brad Zeigler (1-2) pitched the 10th for Oakland and wound up with the loss.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the sixth when Los Angeles picked up two runs with two outs on a single by Orlando Hudson and back-to-back doubles by Casey Blake and James Loney.
Oakland struck back in the eighth on a three-run homer by Jason Giambi and a solo shot by Bobby Crosby.
The Dodgers tied it up 4-4 in the eighth when Blake singled home Rafael Furcal from third and Andre Ethier grounded out three batters later to bring Blake home.
Hudson opened the 10th with a single and advanced to second on an infield single by Blake. James Loney followed with another slow grounder that Oakland turned into a disputed double play. The throw to first pulled Giambi off the bag and Loney was called safe. But the umpires conferred and reversed the call, ruling Giambi had tagged Loney.
The bottom line, however, was that Hudson was safely aboard at third with two out and scored easily when Kemp slapped the ball into right.
