DENVER, June 17 (UPI) -- Troy Tulowitzki hit a three-run homer to highlight a four-run second inning Wednesday, boosting Colorado to a 5-3 win over Tampa Bay.
The Rays halted Colorado's franchise-record, 11-game winning streak Tuesday and the Rockies ended Tampa Bay's run of six consecutive wins Wednesday.
Aaron Cook (6-3) took advantage of the early outburst to get the inter-league victory. He gave up three runs on eight hits over seven innings to capture his third consecutive start. Manny Corpas worked a perfect inning in the eighth, as did Huston Street in the ninth to grab his 14th save.
Colorado's big second inning came against David Price (1-1). He gave up singles to Brad Hawpe and Ryan Spilborghs to start the inning and Tulowitzki followed with his ninth homer of the season.
Chris Iannetta kept the inning going with a double, went to third on a bunt single by Dexter Fowler and scored the fourth run of the frame on a sacrifice fly from Clint Barmes.
Tampa Bay came up with back-to-back homers in the fifth by Carl Crawford and Evan Logoria.
