CHICAGO, June 17 (UPI) -- Jon Danks surrendered a run and five hits in seven innings Wednesday, leading the Chicago White Sox to an inter-league 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs.
With 99 pitches, Danks (5-5) did not walk a batter and struck out nine.
The run he gave up scored on an eighth-inning groundout by Alfonso Soriano.
Danks escaped a potential jam in the bottom of the fourth with runners at first and third and no outs.
At the plate, the White Sox scored on a first-inning solo homer Alexei Ramirez, a second-inning triple by Chris Getz, a seventh-inning squeeze bunt by Scott Posednik and A.J. Pierzynski's sacrifice fly in the eighth.
Podsednik had two of the seven hits for the White Sox, who have won three in a row.
Closer Bob Jenks tossed a perfect ninth for his 15th save.
Milton Bradley had two of the five hits for the Cubs, who have lost five of six.
The losing pitcher was starter Ryan Dempster (4-4).
