MINNEAPOLIS, June 16 (UPI) -- Joe Mauer was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI Tuesday to help the Minnesota Twins post an 8-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Glen Perkins (2-3), activated from the 15-day disabled list prior to the game, gave up two runs on seven hits in six innings for his first victory since April 19.
Joe Crede, Delmon Young, Carlos Gomez, Justin Morneau and Nick Punto each had an RBI for the Twins, who have won three of their last four games, all in inter-league play.
Pittsburgh's Paul Maholm (4-3) gave up eight runs on 14 hits in five-plus innings. Nyjer Morgan drove in the Pirates' two runs with his first homer of the season.
