SAN FRANCISCO, June 16 (UPI) -- John Lackey went seven strong innings and knocked in a run with his first MLB hit Monday in the Los Angeles Angels' 9-7 inter-league win over San Francisco.

Erick Aybar hit a two-run homer and Robb Quinlan stroked a two-run double in the fourth inning, when the Angels scored seven times to blow the game open. Up by 9-4 in the ninth, LA came very close to blowing the lead when Pablo Sandoval hit his second homer of the night -- a two-out, three-run blast off reliever Kevin Jepsen.
