
KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 14 (UPI) -- Miguel Olivo homered and drove in four runs Sunday when the Kansas City Royals recorded a 7-1 inter-league win over Cincinnati, completing a three-game sweep.
After two earlier RBI, Olivo capped the rout with a two-run eighth-inning blast, his ninth homer this season.
Alberto Callaspo had two hits and two RBI, while Mark Teahen had three hits and one RBI for the Royals, who have won four of five.
Winner Brian Bannister (5-3), winless in his previous three starts, surrendered an unearned run and just four hits in eight innings.
Reliever Juan Cruz pitched a scoreless ninth.
Cincinnati's run scored on a first-inning throwing error by Luis Hernandez. Five players had one hit for the Reds, who committed two costly errors and have lost four in a row.
Losing pitcher Johnny Cueto (6-4) surrendered five unearned runs and seven hits in six innings.
