Logano wins Kentucky Nationwide auto race

SPARTA, Ky., June 14 (UPI) -- Joey Logano beat Kyle Busch to the checkered flag Saturday to win the Nationwide Meijer 300 auto race at Sparta, Ky.

Logano won the pole position Friday with a 174.865 mph lap in qualifying. Saturday, he became the first repeat winner at the Kentucky Speedway.

"Two for two at Kentucky!" Logano told the Lexington Herald Leader after he defended his 2008 title. "This place just fits me. I just like it. We're fast every time we come around here."

Brad Keselowski finished third, Brendan Gaughan fourth and Justin Allgaier completed the top-five finishers.

After Saturday's race, Busch, the front-runner, held a 137-point lead over Carl Edwards in the latest Nationwide standings.

Keselowski (-208) was third, Jason Leffler (-218) fourth and Logano (-351) was fifth.
