MLS: Kansas City 3, New England 1

KANSAS CITY, Kan., June 13 (UPI) -- Davy Arnaud scored his fifth goal Saturday and the Kansas City Monarchs beat New England 3-1 for their first victory in four Major League Soccer matches.

After Arnaud scored in the 19th minute, following a feed from Claudio Lopez, Aaron Hohlbein scored for the Wizards, Shalrie Joseph scored for the Revolution, Kansas City got an own-goal by the Revs' Jeff Larentowicz and New England's Emmanuel Osei was ejected.

With the win, Kansas City (5-5-4) remained in a tie with Toronto FC for third place in the Eastern Conference. Toronto FC beat New York 2-1 Saturday.

New England (4-4-4), which had won two straight coming into the match, is tied with the Columbus Crew for fifth in the East.

Osei was sent off in the 31st minute after mixing it up with Lopez.
