ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 13 (UPI) -- Ben Zobrist hit a three-run homer in a seven-run sixth inning Saturday when the Tampa Bay Rays rallied to beat Washington 8-3.

Tampa Bay trailed 2-0 after three, but a solo fourth-inning homer by Carlos Pena set off the seven-run outburst. Gabe Gross hit a two-run homer and Evan Longoria hit a two-run double in the big inning.

Reid Brignac had three hits, while Pena and Longoria had two hits apiece for the Rays, who will attempt to sweep the three-game series Sunday.

Winner Andy Sonnanstine (5-6) gave up three runs and six hits in 7 1/3 innings with one walk and five strikeouts.

Washington got Ryan Zimmerman's first-inning solo homer and third-inning RBI groundout. A run scored on an eighth-inning run error by Gross and Anderson Hernandez had two runs and two hits for the Nationals, who have lost four of five.

Reliever Jason Bergmann (0-1) gave up four hits -- two homers -- and five runs in the sixth to take the loss.
