PHILADELPHIA, June 13 (UPI) -- Jacoby Ellsbury drove in the game-winner in a three-run 13th inning Friday to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 5-2 inter-league win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Ryan Howard's one-out solo homer off Boston reliever Ramon Ramirez in the bottom of the ninth created a 2-2 tie and extra innings.
Boston's Kevin Youkilis and J.D. Drew hit solo homers. Ellsbury and Jason Bay had two hits apiece for the Red Sox, who have won their last four games.
The winner was reliever Takashi Saito (2-0), the fifth of six Boston hurlers after starter Jon Lester had given up just a run and two hits in seven innings with two walks and 11 strikeouts.
Philadelphia also got one RBI from Pedro Feliz. Raul Ibanez had two of the five hits for the Phillies, who had won three of four.
The losing pitcher was starter turned reliever Kyle Kendrick (0-1).
