TORONTO, June 12 (UPI) -- Cody Ross hit a grand slam in a five-run eighth inning Friday to boost the Florida Marlins to a 7-3 inter-league win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ross's ninth homer this season -- and only hit of the game -- broke a 2-2 tie with no outs in the top of the eighth.
Hanley Ramirez had three hits and three RBI. Ross Gload had a run and three hits, while Jeremy Hermida added a run and two hits for the Marlins, who stopped their two-game slide.
The winner was reliever Dan Meyer (1-0).
Aaron Hill led Toronto with two hits and one RBI. Alex Rios also had two hits for the Blue Jays, who have lost two straight after winning four of five.
Toronto lost starter Roy Halladay to a groin injury in the fourth.
The losing pitcher was reliever Brandon League (1-3).
