Marcus Vick accused of violating sentence

NORFOLK, Va., June 11 (UPI) -- Former Miami Dolphins player Marcus Vick violated the conditions of his suspended sentence on drunken driving charges, Virginia authorities say.

The (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot said Thursday that Vick, younger brother of former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, is now facing revocation of his suspended sentence.

A hearing Wednesday regarding the allegations against the younger Vick was postponed in General District Court for Aug. 5.

Marcus Vick, 25, who attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University just like his older brother, was sentenced last October to a one-year suspended sentence on a drunken-driving charge in Norfolk.

Vick was also sentenced to participate in an alcohol awareness and education program and lose his driver's license for a year.

The Virginian-Pilot said Vick, whose 28-year-old brother was sent to prison on dog-fighting charges, was dropped by the Virginia Tech football team in 2006 and released by the Dolphins in 2007.
