The winner was reliever Steven Jackson (2-1) after starter Paul Maholm gave up an unearned run and four hits in seven innings with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Atlanta's run scored on Jeff Francoeur's fourth-inning single.

Francoeur had two of the five hits for the Braves, who have split their last six contests.

The losing pitcher was Rafael Soriano (1-1).

Atlanta starter Javier Vaszquez surrendered an earned run and two hits in eight innings with no walks and 12 strikeouts.

Atlanta Manager Bobby Cox was ejected in the ninth for arguing an out call.
